My eyes sing joy , my toes tap
My ears listen to life’s songs
My lips feel the breeze kool!
My knuckles touch yours too
As we climb up the mountains
Today we set a new pace, aces
In our pockets, old silver dollars
Weigh down our jeans, we each
Carry two ,one in each pocket
Reminding us of Vegas with our
Grandparents that won them playing
The slots, winning so many back
Then, what a chance that was that
Pull down of that level cascade of
So much beautiful silver , hearing
Frankie sing in that casino on Tahoe
With our our grandmother telling
Her story of her and her adopted mother
Crossing the States way back when it
Was so danger-wrought, something so
Bold, reserved generally for men and
Yet she was feisty ,so fierce, so daring
She set the mood and the mold, stood up
For her gender , using her strength strong
A bender a wonder a wonder a lady that
Made our mom so strong, too, proud am
I to tell this story I have twisted somewhat
But the grain of truth lies firmly embedded
We each feel strongly our lives so depend
We are a team, we are characters in our own
Our stories today need their independence
We need our own personal victories ,nwe
Must rally our free forces our eyes tonoohh
So open , that stolen character once so fiery
That will to jettison to be catapulted to be
We must see forward and gain back our trust
That we can all , you , me, make music once
Again as we carve out our flutes in wood we
Find and let those pieces guide us out in the
Wilds still untamed , natural, listen to these
Songs that are not for man’s financial gains
Yes there is both happiness wrapped in much
Toil, not all easy and certain, listen to our
Flute’s sound we blow out of our own souls!
We are such grand char@cters
We are such yes we are so very
Personalities, ourselves, unique In our very own world!
That we must equally #hare and be willing to freely
Living in as much peace as each piece of us
Fits into each other!
