I am glad to finally be including some of these here for me as well as the world to see of my quick, subconscious marries conscious multi-media watercolors n' oil pastels 'n ink drawings that cover the two pages as if looking at a book - leafing through so to speak.
I like looking out at the sand and the beach, the sea-oats standing tall and as sentries for us on the sand dunes, the blue skies, the clouds when there are some, the blazing sun, the wind, the birds, the walking people moving towards and away from the ocean and the cars, too or the people on bikes, the dogs walked - whatever - even the Good Humor man and his or her sweet music beckoning everyone for some ice cream ... all wonderful sights to inspire me on my one-week of vacation at the beach with my family at the Outer Banks of North Carolina.
This year we picked Salvo as our destination point and we had a wonderful time and we are all , of course, looking forward to our trip next year - this year already! I will do more art there as it is therapeutic, essential , exciting, involving , engrossing, compelling and thoroughly gut-wrenching and seductive. I can't not do it : it's my - it's calling -yanking - pulling and like the sea sirens seducing , flattering and capturing me like those pesky and awful nets set out by too many fisherman catching too many fish unnecessarily ... bad image, but I do get caught-up in a web of, a net of forces that for me works and is sublimely beneficial.
Enjoy these images and I hope they remind you, too of the beach and allow you to fill in the spaces I leave as you see fit and as it was for you when there.
