Customers & Friends Gay & Mark Taste Andrej J. Razumovsky's Dry Organic Mendoza Chardonnay & Cabernet Sauvignon Oct. 2011 @ Cleveland Park Wines

Some of what I do is clearly more art oriented and focused. Being an artist I see things and perceive them through my own senses and I like to " go with the flow ". For me life seems to be more clearly that : hopping a ride, jumping on the freight train like the hobo or the thief trying to escape capture. It's all fun and exciting and I like it this was because I position myself and yet I really am not in complete control and the elements and circumstances of any particular moment that I am in take part-control and do influence greatly my immediate circumstances that my senses react to. I love that : I love it so much I do it over and over and over and over and again over again!

I like to bring things together. That I do control to some extent. But it's not about control : it's more about the journey and some fun and exciting and stimulating results that you and others may benefit during and afterward. That is something special for me and I thrive on it. I hope you enjoy some of these artsy photos that I have taken. I was " taken by the moment ", certainly inspired by the wine and and meeting Andrej for the first time and by my old friends and customers Gay and Mark. Gay really caught my eye and as you can easily see by these pictures I tried to capture as much of her as I could as seen through Andrej' wines ( reds and whites, both organic from Mendoza, Argentina ) in my Riedel Austrian wine-tasting glass. I think I got some good shots with my digital camera. These are but some of them, I do take lots of pictures : I do get swept up in the moment and try and record bits and parts of it for later when after the swirl. whirl and the rush and the excitement and the screaming by the director of the word : " action! " all settles later and it's fun and rewarding to pick up and examine and perhaps even permit oneself the simple and wonderful pleasure of " luxuriating " in the glow and those past sensations that a picture can help capture in parts.

It's the artistic rush for me and I do really enjoy it. I can't say exactly that I live for it but I can say that I do love to throw myself into it whenever I get the opportunity. I do this because I always come away enriched. It was great this first meeting with Andrej the owner of his own winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Dan Terrasa of William Harrison Imports brought him to me immediately after he got off his plane one Tuesday evening and customers Mark and Gay just happened to stop by at that particular moment in time. That was fortunate for all of us because everyone enjoyed this enriching experience.

That's Andrej above pouring some of his wine for us to try. Thanks Andrej : I really did love both the Cabernet Sauvignon and the " natal " Chardonnay.

I saw Gay the other day as she picked up some of her wine and I mentioned that I wanted to write and post this blog on our meeting and tasting Andrej' wines. I asked her if she would mind and she said : " no ", not at all. That's good as I think I have some excellent shots here : really moody and thought-provoking.

I love this picture above of Andrej smiling. I have many photos of him and I will post them next. I will also write more here later. For the moment enjoy these pictures " as is ". Cheers et Gracias Andrej and Dan, and thanks Gay and Mark. Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn

Black & White Watercolor By Anthony Quinn Done 9/7/1989 In Falls Church, Virginia / Part Of A Series

I did this black-and-white watercolor back in September, the 7th, 1989 to be exact in a series on many that also included a number in colors and sometimes only one color as I often did some portraits, too. It was fun, I had a working blast of creativity and it simply would not stop for this two-week period while my wife and daughter were off visiting her parents and I was working and coming home to an empty house where I would turn to my art pretty much each and every night as there was so much artistic energy stored and pent-up inside of me. It was a great period : a great release of so much creativity. I loved it, really I did.

I am glad to finally be bringing some of these to light as they have pretty much stayed inside these binders of mine and away from the light of day or anyone's gaze. These are all the same piece that I did seen from different angles and perspectives.

I did them on the computer paper that was given to me by someone that I worked with years ago - a really nice Asian man at Burka's Fine Wines & Spirits. I thank him now once again as they sure did come in handy and cost me nothing. I have used them well over the years and have a body of my work as well as my daughter's on them.

I will post this now and add to it as I go along. I hope that you enjoy it. Cheers and stay-tuned for more, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn

I love to draw.

I am now working on a series of quick portrait sketches of the people that I meet.

It's now Friday, March 23rd, 2012 here at home in northern Virginia at 9:11AM ( it's supposed to get into the eighties today! ) as I get ready to call my mom and then meet the Swedish friend of my next door neighbor before going off to work in Washington D.C. Cheers, TONY

My Tryptic Cardboard Collage Acrylic Work Of The 1990's! My Bare & Raw Emotions - Victories & Wounds If You Will ...

I do love doing art and it seems to follow me wherever I go. It's not something I can ever manage to turn on-and-off : it's always there, always present and I simply wish that I could avail myself of more ways in to which to share it with everyone / do it more often as as I breathe I seem to be constantly " on call " and often a vessel for it's expression. Could that it be more?!? Anyway, enjoy these pictures now and I will continue to add to this my thoughts, feelings and ruminations over the next 24 hours. Cheers in the meantime and happy new year 2012 on this Sunday, January 22nd, 2012 here in northern Virginia on a very cold, icy and gray early evening now as we await the arrival of our great old friend Lew. For me life and living and art and the making/doing/practicing of art are inseparable and intertwined inexplicably! Cheers, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn
