My Etchings " Dancing " From Paris, France Done In 1978-1979 @ Atelier 17 Of William Stanley Hayter From Drawings Made @ Beaux Arts School Earlier

It's so refreshing for me to see these old artist proof prints that I made from my many drawing visits to the Beaux Arts school in Paris, France with my friends from William Stanley Hayter's Atelier 17 etching work shop ( 10, Rue Didot, 14th arrondisement, off the Pernety metro ) back in 1978-1979. We snuck in and drew until they caught us and kicked us out. Usually we got some great work done of the still and the dancing nude male and female models on the floor of the large room as we sat on the bleachers and drew as quickly as we could. A real rush of adrenalin , a real charge and it was all worth it as Cristina Piceda and Maria of Buenos Aires, Argentina and Mansoor Ibrahim of Kuala Lumpur, Malasia ( and more depending on who could join us ) drew to our heart's content so many years ago. I can feel that same surge and rush and motion even now as I look at these starter-artist's proofs that I made from those drawings and then of course embellished as I went along. I will include copies later of the finished print here or in a separate blog entry later. In the meantime enjoy these and stay-tuned for more soon. Cheers, TONY
