This Was A Really Busy Day! the headline should finish as both Chris Barker & I
tasted many wines and met with many people on the aftermath of a nice, delicate snow-fall the day before. I have a picture taken outside as I arrived for work and I will include some of the four Morning Poems that I wrote then before starting work and having no idea exactly how busy and crazy and fun it would all be as everyone managed to show up on this day and I invited everyone there to join us and gather around and become part of this truly serendipitous and glorious day here in our nation's capitol in Cleveland Park N.W. a great neighborhood of Washington D.C. with a fine wine store and all other retail establishments to boot, too! I know, I know : I am tooting our own horns - so be it.
There's an art to pouring a bottle of wine - to presenting a bottle of wine, to drinking and sharing a bottle of wine with family and friends and also of how to match it with a meal : thus this blog is an art expression of one of the steps in how this all comes together in the day of the life of me and everyone that I come into contact and help to facilitate and bring together as many people and wines as I can to get at the best and most interesting matches and connections possible. I love this art - perfect for the artist in me.
There's also an art in simply choosing a wine that may be off of many peoples' " hit lists " or radars screens like the bottle being poured of a dry and delightful-with-food Spanish Tempranillo from the Valencia region that is better known for it's sweeter reds and sparkling white. Also notice the bottle of ROTARI yellow-labelled sparkling wine sitting on the table in the photo to the right? That's what we should mention more often, too as it came before the proseccos that are so popular today and eclipsing all other bubblies from Italy and that's a shame as the ROTARI from Trento is dry and complex, rich and flavorful and long-finished and a much better match for many foods even though it is a bit more expensive. There's still a real place for the ROTARI'S of this world.

I took the picture above to record the snow and the sunshine of course but even more to record the red berries or buds or flowers of the smaller green bushes. Enlarge it on your screen and you will see them better : great contrast of the winter!
We had in the store this day : Nelson, Jennifer, Michael with the Cossack black cap, Santos, Chris, Mandie, Lauren, Kelly, Jeff, Mark, David, a male customer and his child that he was carrying in a Papoose in front of him, Ravi, the chef and his girlfriend, Marci, customers that I photographed outside in the store windows' reflections, my reflection in the Dino Italian window on the corner of Connecticut Avenue and the street before Porter that I can never remember the name of - starts with a " W " I think ..., and more. Of course there are all the wines in the Reidel wine-tasting glasses and some wine bottles of course since I am in the wine business at Cleveland Park Wines & Spirits ( 3423 Connecticut Avenue N.W. Washington D.C. 20008 Tel:202-363-4265, sales@clevelandparkwine.com www.clevelandparkwine.com also on Facebook at : cleveland park wines & spirits and on Twitter at L CPWINESPIRITS, too , , chatwine.blogspot.com and chatpoetry.blogspot.com ).
Check us out at all of these sights. The companies of wines represented were : Vintage of New York, Constantine Imports in Maryland, Monument Imports in Washington D.C., Washington Wholesalers in Washington D.C., SW SEIG in Virginia and the Pinnacle House, too. There were probably more but these are the ones represented in these photos mounted here so far for your visual enjoyment of motion, action, activity and overall emotional joy and positive energy flow - all essential to providing an environment in which people want to be a part and use as a destination point.
Cheers, I may add more. It's now Tuesday evening at 7:03PM here at home in northern Virginia on a cold and what started off as very sleety and icy day on January 18th, 2011. Be careful as you navigate and watch out for those slick areas. TONY

I got the distinct impression that she liked what she saw. Is that correct Sara?
