My Pastel Inspired By My Uncle Mort's Death Years Ago / My Family Was Living In Paris, France At The Time 1970's

Pastels from the past ... this one was of a burial scene in the countryside at night, simple, my uncle being lowered into his grave. Solemn, sincere, unadorned, not fancy, the basic heart-felt-gut-wrenching and hard mentally and emotionally and also exhausting on a physical level as well.

I was working a lot at this time with regular pastels. I do like working with them. I like the feel of them in my hands and how they mold themselves to my flesh as well as to the paper that they touch, crush, caress and cover in marvelous warmth, emotion and colors! Cheers and enjoy, Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn
