I will work some more on all this but here is what I have so far. It's Sunday night, actually now just Monday morning at 12:32 AM as I type these last words here at home in northern Virginia before I post this blog entry.
I went on Father's Day just last Sunday with my two children to the National Gallery of Art to see the William Stanley Hayter Atelier 17 showing of Bill Hayter's prints as well as those of other famous artists that had etched and pulled prints in either Paris, France or New York City during the 2nd World War. I was inspired greatly by the show : still am one week later.
I was disappointed to see now actual pictures of Bill Hayter or of any of the other artists. That was a mistake in my humble opinion. I'll include some that I took in Paris in and outside of the Atelier 17 soon. Cheers ...
I hope you enjoy this small " teaser " of some of my artist's proofs of the plates I etched and then printed really early on at William Stanley Hayter's Atelier 17 at 10, Rue Didot in the 14th arrondisement of Paris, France. I worked there for about two years I believe. I'll have to check my records and include that sometime soon.
In the meantime enjoy these pictures of some of my early prints - all artist's proofs from the various stages of each zinc plate. Cheers, TONY
