CLOVIS BOSCATO Of BOSCATO Vinhos Finos, Brasil : Body Languages, Hands & Fascial Expressions Of Wine Personalities , June, 2012 In Brasil : Cheers!
I have been more and more inspired these days as I use my camera with all the expressive gestures that we use all the time and that I notice as I snap quickly away with my camera as the various wine personalities that come into my life speak with everything that they have at hand : with all their bodies. I love this. Cheers and enjoy!!
And so it begins with owner / winemaker Clovis Boscato of his own BOSCATO Vinhos Finos wines made with his brother , wife and family in the quaint, beautiful wine town called Nova Padua tucked in a long and sprawling and wonderful valley deep in Brasil's wine country not far from Caxias Do Sul, Bento Goncalves and Porto Alegre.
This was the last picture above with Clovis pausing to be sure we had all taken in his words and body expressions and language that together conveyed one man's / his deep love, respect, knowledge, passion, inspiration, dedication to making the best possible wines that he can. He seals things with a hand shake, the old-fashioned way of doing business, meeting- getting to know and trust and finally, if everything is in order a smile and a grin and a hand shake. Bravo Clovis. As I told you I liked everything you did except your young Pinot NOir reds as they still need time. Cheers! Tim tim!!!!
Look at the clarity, the precision, the purpose of Clovis' cupped hand here!!!
The camera does not lie : my Panasonic DMC LX5 Lumix lens captures the wonderful immediacy of the moment which is impossible for our eyes and other senses to register as completely as there is always so much going on : especially when Clovis is explaining to us his philosophy, passion and purpose and efforts so far to have gotten where he was in late June, 2012. What a lot to be proud of, really some fine wines.
Clovis' assistant Ann above was there to translate for me when I did not understand all the Portuguese of Clovis as it has been since 1964 that I spoke it as a child just returned from living in the new capitol Brazilia with my family at the time. Thank you Ann. I appreciate all the help, and your bright smile and cheery disposition as well ; and admire you for having made the effort to learn English as I need to do to learn Portuguese now.
So much expression! Clovis you are a very serious man! I like that, I like your passion, your devotion.
Clovis, where were you taking us here, into the vineyards?!?
I want to hear more Clovis, you have got my attention here! This was just before we really started the tour of the cellars and winery.
Clovis, you speak quickly and in an animated way, but you also pause to listen. Perhaps to answer a question or ask if there are any questions?
Sometimes a blurry picture in my opinion can be every bit as expressive as one completely in focus.
Thank you Clovis for such an excellent tour and all the time you spent with us. I appreciate that more than you know.
This was just the start Clovis of a beautiful relationship that I hope to grow and continue with you for many years to come as I do my very best to make the United States aware of the excellent wines that you make and will continue to make. What a great eye-opener and discovery this has all been for me. Obregado Clovis!
With time I will continue to post all these pictures that I took and to try and tell some of their stories. I have many pictures and many stories to try and tell still. Stay-tuned for much more - the love, the passion, the dedication, the vision, the integrity, the focus and all the fine flavors of Brasil, it's people, it's cultures, it's arts and it's food and wine and pastel colors, too! I am a fan, a big fan! Cheers ... ola, bom dia, obregado Ann e Clovis e Ines ... tim tim ... Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn chatwine.blogspot.com , chatbrasil.blogspot.com, on Facebook at Bralvin. TONY
