Some of what I do is clearly more art oriented and focused. Being an artist I see things and perceive them through my own senses and I like to " go with the flow ". For me life seems to be more clearly that : hopping a ride, jumping on the freight train like the hobo or the thief trying to escape capture. It's all fun and exciting and I like it this was because I position myself and yet I really am not in complete control and the elements and circumstances of any particular moment that I am in take part-control and do influence greatly my immediate circumstances that my senses react to. I love that : I love it so much I do it over and over and over and over and again over again!
I like to bring things together. That I do control to some extent. But it's not about control : it's more about the journey and some fun and exciting and stimulating results that you and others may benefit during and afterward. That is something special for me and I thrive on it. I hope you enjoy some of these artsy photos that I have taken. I was " taken by the moment ", certainly inspired by the wine and and meeting Andrej for the first time and by my old friends and customers Gay and Mark. Gay really caught my eye and as you can easily see by these pictures I tried to capture as much of her as I could as seen through Andrej' wines ( reds and whites, both organic from Mendoza, Argentina ) in my Riedel Austrian wine-tasting glass. I think I got some good shots with my digital camera. These are but some of them, I do take lots of pictures : I do get swept up in the moment and try and record bits and parts of it for later when after the swirl. whirl and the rush and the excitement and the screaming by the director of the word : " action! " all settles later and it's fun and rewarding to pick up and examine and perhaps even permit oneself the simple and wonderful pleasure of " luxuriating " in the glow and those past sensations that a picture can help capture in parts.
It's the artistic rush for me and I do really enjoy it. I can't say exactly that I live for it but I can say that I do love to throw myself into it whenever I get the opportunity. I do this because I always come away enriched. It was great this first meeting with Andrej the owner of his own winery in Mendoza, Argentina. Dan Terrasa of William Harrison Imports brought him to me immediately after he got off his plane one Tuesday evening and customers Mark and Gay just happened to stop by at that particular moment in time. That was fortunate for all of us because everyone enjoyed this enriching experience.
That's Andrej above pouring some of his wine for us to try. Thanks Andrej : I really did love both the Cabernet Sauvignon and the " natal " Chardonnay.
I saw Gay the other day as she picked up some of her wine and I mentioned that I wanted to write and post this blog on our meeting and tasting Andrej' wines. I asked her if she would mind and she said : " no ", not at all. That's good as I think I have some excellent shots here : really moody and thought-provoking.
I love this picture above of Andrej smiling. I have many photos of him and I will post them next. I will also write more here later. For the moment enjoy these pictures " as is ". Cheers et Gracias Andrej and Dan, and thanks Gay and Mark. Anthony ( TONY ) Quinn
