Last Years Black & White Watercolors I Did That Anticipate This Year's Art Works Aug. 2010 In Northern Virginia & Salvo, N.Carolina

I have my second week off here in northern Virginia and I plan to do many more like these that I did last August here 1n 2009 before returning to work. I had just been in Avon doing a series of watercolor and oil pastel pieces and these here that I did the week of my return from the Outer Banks, N.C. are all in black watercolor. I had my sketch books with white virgin pages and I wanted to fill them with my work inspired from having been just at the beach. I worked quickly and from memory and inspiration which I value almost as much as being there on the spot at the exact minute and time and place.

I work quickly from my raw inspiration and rarely want to change anything afterward. It's become my manner of working for the last twenty years or so and I like it and am willing to rest my definition/your definition/other's definitions of me and it on this " rawness ". I hope it inspires you some as it surely does me. Cheers, TONY
