I like working loosely this way : loosely as if you were looking at a book and that the story in this case is in the images and you read them as you see and interpret them personally. I did bake a bit with each of these as I drew these watercolors and oil pastel and ink drawings outside in the elements. What an experience this is to work directly in the elements. I love this best : so direct, so raw , so intense. Cheers, TONY

Art That Inspires Me, In This Case My Own That I Did In The Outer Banks Of North Carolina / Now It's July 22nd, 2011 : Friday Evening - Vroom!

I love working " in the fullness " of all the elements around me and this was no exception down in the Outer Banks of North Carolina perhaps a couple of years ago was it? I think so. These are my watercolors and oil pastel ( sometimes I added pen and ink, too ) drying in the heat of the sun : very much like that of today, Friday, July 22nd, 2011 here in Cleveland Park N.W. Washington D.C. The sun will wash these watercolors out completely if you let them. I did not. I don't need this bleaching as I want to enjoy the vibrancy of the colors that I achieved. Cheers and enjoy, TONY To help me dry them and keep them in place and not blowing away by the wind I used the empty bottles of wine I took down to enjoy to accomplish this. Multi-tasking I call this. It's a whole package being at the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my family each August. This was no exception in 2009 I believe? What a wonderful experience involving many things and including many experiences and revelations and " moments : . Wow, to fully experience a " moment " : now that's a feat worth noting and sharing, too. Cheers.
